Zenzile Miriam Makeba 'Mama Africa'Mama Africa was and still is one of Africa's greatest songstresses. Today March the 4th was her bithday. She was also a fierce activist against the then South African system of apartheid. In the shallow, oversaturated, pop-frenzied world we now live in where the media easily attaches the word great to various singers it is important not to forget those who really deserve the accolade.
